In fact you should also know how to defend yourself in a debate if you want to win.Even though writing a good essay at the high school level can sometimes seem like a cake walk compared to the complexities of public speaking, there is no reason why you should wait until you are already past that age before you start practicing. The most effective people I know still work to refine their skills when they get older.You don't need to be a writer to write a good essay, you just need to know what the basics are and how to add them up. With practice you will develop your writing skills in no time at all.
